Alaafin Abiipa obamoro was the 12th Aláàfin of Oyo. He was preceded by Alaafin Ajiboyede and succeeded by Alaafin Obalokun. He ruled in Oyo-Igboho of the old Oyo empire from 1570-1580. Being the fourth and last king who reigned in Igboho.

Iyake lake in Ado Awaye, Oke-Ogun region of Oyo State is one of the two recognized suspended lakes in the world. A suspended lake is described as a lake found on top of a mountain. Iyake lake is the only recognized suspended/hanging lake in Africa – one of the only two in the world after the Hanging Lake in Colorado, United States of America.

There is a small town on your way to Oyo town in Oyo State, just behind Fiditi, it’s called “Ilu Aje”. Which literally, translates to “Town of Witches”.

It is a modern town located between Iseyin and Eruwa. Lanlate was co-founded by two friends, Bioku and Labebe; Bioku being the Chief. The settlement was surrounded by four major hills namely; Onidan, Ota-epo, Olofin and Araye. The Anthem and Panegyrics/Eulogies (Oriki) of Lanlate is based on these four hills. The four hills protected Lanlate from the hostile attacks and consequently, the settlement became populated by people looking for shelter.
